New Barclay House

Inspiration in the City of Spires

Case Study

Situated in world-famous Oxford – the City of Dreaming Spires – New Barclay House is perfectly placed near transport links and the city centre.

There is handy on-site parking and over 15,600 square feet of office space, spread over two floors.

We were asked to weave the magic of this famous City throughout the offices, to create a modern, efficient and inspiring workspace. This included breakout areas, co-working spaces, meeting rooms and a welcoming reception area.

We approached this unique refurb in three ways:

We added an affectionate nod to the city

  • Working closely with the client team, we incorporated a stunning mural of the Oxford skyline, featuring the famous Radcliffe Camera building, part of Oxford University

  • Rich Oxford Blues and bold yellows were incorporated to give bursts of colour and positive energy

We focused on inspiration and collaboration

  • An eye-catching retractable spaghetti curtain was installed on a motorised track to help divide areas – this gives a truly opulent touch while providing unique flexibility

  • Bespoke booth seating and dynamic meeting areas were created to encourage collaboration and promote new ways of working in a post-Covid world

We modernised, installing technology to match

  • We fitted the latest technology across access control and self-service terminals – this ethos even filtered down to cutting-edge coffee making facilities

  • To free the flow of light, we installed glass walls and doors to create stunning spaces, with frosted banding for privacy

Oxford has it all. A go-to City for scholars and entrepreneurs alike. So we were proud to step up and create a stunning workspace with modern features in-line with its dynamic location.

Our client was delighted with the outcome and tenants were eager to occupy such a vibrant and inspiring space.
