Hooray for HR!

A huge well done to our Admin Coordinator, Victoria Barrett, who has recently passed her Level 3 CIPD in Human Resources Practice Diploma, and will now add HR coordinator to her responsibilities.

Starting at Homebrook as an Operations Administrator, Victoria soon took an interest in how Human Resources could expand her current role. Victoria explains, “I started to ask Jane [Homebrook’s Executive Director] more questions about HR within the business and making suggestions. Jane is so open to new ideas that she allowed me to take on a more varied role.”

The 12-month HR course involved weekly visits to Stephenson’s College, as well as up to 10 hours of home studying per week. This Diploma has helped Victoria build a foundation knowledge on various subjects including recruitment, performance management and how to successfully handle an employee’s life cycle.

As a company Homebrook has always been passionate about the development of its employees and Victoria commented on the support she has received from the business, “They have been beyond fantastic with helping me progress in my career. Jane has been so patient with my never-ending questions and her practical knowledge has made me constantly think from both points of view and how one decision can impact many.”

Homebrook Executive Director, Jane, concluded, “Having someone in the team with a HR qualification is a huge benefit. Not only will it continue to ensure we remain compliant in all things HR, but also to help to improve the relationship we have with our employees. Now Victoria is qualified, I can be confident that we are doing the best we can as a company to increase employee satisfaction and ultimately efficiency across the board.”
